The Canal Shop Company has been trading since November 1999, and it is run by me, Neil Ratcliffe. I have been involved with canal shops for over 24 years and with canals and boats for a lot longer.

If any item that you have ordered arrives faulty or damaged, please email me with the details. A replacement will be sent usually within 24 hours of receipt of the email. Packaging and postage to cover the cost of the returned item will normally be enclosed with the replacement.

Under the terms of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you have the right to cancel the contract to buy goods from this site, provided that notification is given in writing or by email (details above) within seven working days of receipt of the goods. This right does not cover magazines or video recordings unsealed by yourself.

After sending notification that you wish to cancel the contract, please ensure that the items are returned to me in good condition and at your expense, and a full refund of the cost of the item paid to the Canal Shop Company will be made as soon as possible and within 30 days. Please obtain a Certificate of Posting when returning the item.
